Quality Logs

The characteristics of a teak log are determined by its conformation, cylindrical and straightness, regularity of annual rings, colour and texture and presence or absence of black stripes and bee holes. A study has indicated that there are variations in the characteristics of teak based on its location. Weather and soil have a great impact on the characteristics of teak. It is probable that weather has a greater effect on the characteristics of teak. Our Teak has uniform golden color, straight grained and even texture and with few markings. Our teak comes only from 1st Class Area as : Taungdwingyi, Pyinmana, Thayet, Minbu, Toung-Oo, Shwebo,Monywa, Aunglan, Pyay.

Golden Teak

Teak is probably the best-protected commercial species in the world. Elephants are still being used extensively to extract teak because of their low impact upon the environment. Elephants do far less damage to forests than heavy caterpillars and other logging equipment. Teak is not a tropical rainforest species. It grows sparsely in mixed deciduous forests. In its natural environment there are only 1 to 5 trees per acre in the best growing areas but Burma established plantations in 1856 with the assistance of some very farsighted foresters who saw the need to treasure these renewable sustained yield resources for future generations.

Our Teak decking quality, quarter saw with a fine grain and specially selected, is following super yacht quality standards, with a uniform color and straight grained. The logs used on our production are of the highest quality available. Only naturally grown aged teak that has been selected by our own people and judged on super yacht quality is being used for the manufacturing of our decking. Our timber is longer and straighter than most shipwrights have seen in years. As you know traditional quarter cutting of sawn logs have almost disappeared and with it, the skill to produce stable boards for decking. We still offer this traditional cutting service. We could provide up 6 metre nearly perfect teak to our customer. We provide teak lumber in vertical grain, mixed grain, or flat grain; and our teak lumber can be provided rough, surfaced, edged, or precision-milled to your exact specification. Our experience sawyers and graders assure that our quality product will strictly comply with decking grading rule.

The popular forest divisions are Pyinmanar (K.), Pyay Nawin (Q), Pago Division and Minbu (MB), Aunglan (P), Thayet(P*), Pakokku Yaw (J* & Jy*).Logs extracted from these areas are exported for marine production.Q, MB, P*, P, *J, Jy* logs are very good for marine production and the chances for the availability of them become less and less..As the availability of logs from the above mentioned areas was on a decline, the volume of marine quality logs produced has fallen. At present, teak logs are to be harvested from the virgin forests which had not been extracted before, and consequently, their quality is not so high as before. Marine quality teak logs cannot be available abundantly as before.

Teak is one of nature’s most durable woods and its supply is limited.

Therefore, the challenge is to conserve it .From cutting and milling our own logs to the final finish details, we ensure the maximum utilization of every piece of lumber and wood from one geographic area can be specified for a single project which helps control quality and minimize replacements. And we build every item to last. Our projects cover all aspects of the teak business and we are the source for all your timely teak requirements.
